TEHRAN: The criminal investigation into the attack on the Azerbaijani Embassy in Tehran will remain a priority until all legal proceedings are concluded, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian assured during a meeting with Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev. According to Trend News Agency, President Pezeshkian emphasized the importance of the case and reiterated Iran's commitment to fostering stronger relationships with Azerbaijan. The Iranian leader highlighted that the enhancement of relations spans multiple sectors including transportation, energy, and agriculture, asserting that Iran adheres to the agreements made in these areas. During the discussions, Pezeshkian also expressed a viewpoint against the involvement of new countries in regional matters, stating, "The countries of the region can solve security and other issues themselves by cooperating. This is Iran's principled policy, and it consistently adheres to it." On his part, Deputy Prime Minister Mustafayev showcased Azerbaijan's r eadiness to expand cooperation with Iran across various fields such as economy, trade, culture, transit, and security. He suggested that regional dialogues could be a solution to existing problems. Highlighting the significance of international collaboration, Mustafayev extended an invitation to President Pezeshkian to attend the upcoming COP29 event in Baku, aiming to further discuss and address environmental and regional issues on a global platform.
