Tehran: The work done on the Araz corridor has been announced, Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Farzaneh Sadegh told APA’s correspondent dispatched to Iran. “The Aghband-Kelalah bridge is being built by Azerbaijan. It is planned to complete the shore reinforcement works in the area where the bridge is being built by the end of this year. At the same time, the construction of the terminal in the area where the bridge is located is planned to be completed by the Novruz holiday next year. That is, it will be possible to use that infrastructure. Currently, work is being carried out to expand the road from the Aghband-Kelalah bridge to Julfa from Iranian territory. There will be numerous bridges and tunnels on that road. That road will pass through mountainous areas in Iran. Tunnels are currently being constructed, which requires difficult engineering work. We plan to complete the construction of the tunnels in the next 1-2 years. After the construction of the bridge and terminal is completed, this
will contribute to the development of the region and our countries,” the Iranian minister said.

The project’s completion is anticipated to bolster regional development and improve transport links, which are expected to have lasting economic and logistical impacts for both countries.
