Iranian President Calls Azerbaijani Counterpart to Discuss Key Issues

Baku: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian reached out to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in a phone call, as reported by APA. President Pezeshkian expressed his appreciation to President Aliyev for visiting the Iranian Embassy in Azerbaijan to convey condolences following the passing of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei, and numerous other civilians. He also acknowledged Aliyev's intention to provide humanitarian aid to Iran.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Masoud Pezeshkian clarified that the airstrike incident in Nakhchivan was not linked to Iran and assured that it would be thoroughly investigated. President Ilham Aliyev reiterated his condolences for the loss of civilian lives in recent events in Iran and highlighted the necessity of investigating the Nakhchivan incident.

The conversation also encompassed discussions on the future of joint economic projects, with both leaders exchanging views on potential development opportunities.
