Iran’s Sahar TV Accused of Spreading Disinformation About Azerbaijan

Diyarbakir:Media and Broadcasting Council Iran's Sahar TV channel spreads disinformation to mislead public opinion.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Iran's Sahar TV channel has broadcasted footage of an event originally held in Turkey's Diyarbakir province, falsely portraying it as occurring in Azerbaijan. The channel presented the event as a rally supporting women wearing hijabs in Azerbaijan, which the Media and Broadcasting Council has denounced as a deliberate falsification of facts aimed at misleading public opinion.

The council's statement highlights that Sahar TV has been engaged in spreading biased and false information about Azerbaijan, using provocative content to manipulate public perception. The channel's consistent distortion of events related to Azerbaijan and its systematic dissemination of disinformation have led to its blacklisting.

The Media and Broadcasting Council has urged media outlets to uphold factual accuracy and objectivity in their reporting. It also advises the public to critically evaluate information, cross-verify with reliable sources, and avoid participating in the spread of disinformation.
