Irish Parliamentary Delegation Explores Shusha and Khankendi

Shusha: An Irish parliamentary delegation led by Tony McCormack, Convenor of the Friends of Azerbaijan Group in the Houses of the Oireachtas, is visiting Azerbaijan and recently toured the cities of Shusha and Khankendi.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the delegation's visit to Shusha commenced at the City Square. There, members learned about the damage inflicted on statues of Azerbaijani cultural figures, including Khurshidbanu Natavan, Bulbul, and Uzeyir Hajibeyli, during the occupation period. The delegation also visited the Ashaghi Govhar Agha Mosque, observed the Shusha Fortress walls, and explored Jidir Duzu Plain.

In Khankendi, the delegation visited Victory Square and Garabagh University, and observed large-scale construction projects undertaken by the Azerbaijani government. The delegation noted the return of normalcy to the liberated territories, with former internally displaced persons gradually moving back as reconstruction efforts continue.
