Baku: An Israeli think tank has made a formal appeal to the US Congress, criticizing a bill that supports Armenian separatists, according to a statement released by the Dona Gracia Center for Diplomacy and published in the Economic Peace Center. The center accuses the bill of discrimination against Azerbaijanis and violating human rights principles upheld by the United States.

According to Trend News Agency, the statement issued by the Dona Gracia Center for Diplomacy labels the bill, introduced by Congressman Adam Schiff, as a discriminatory action that undermines the suffering of Azerbaijani internally displaced persons (IDPs) and aligns with ethnic and religious prejudices. The think tank argues that such legislation not only disregards the significant adversities faced by Azerbaijani IDPs but also contradicts the values of equality and justice.

The statement further criticizes supporters of the bill, pointing out their silence on past atrocities such as the Khojaly genocide and ongoing issues like injur
ies and deaths caused by Armenian-planted mines. The think tank urges the US Congress to reconsider its stance and withdraw the bill to foster peace and fairness between Armenia and Azerbaijan, highlighting the potential ease of resolving this issue if biased influences were removed and broader interests were considered.
