Italian Observer Highlights Inclusion of Youth and Women in Azerbaijan Elections

ROME - "The participation of young people and women in the election process indicates that there are ample opportunities for this in Azerbaijan," said Naike Gruppioni, a member of the Italian Parliament, at today's press conference.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, this marked her second visit to Azerbaijan as an election observer. "I am proud to be an observer in the elections held in Azerbaijan. I thank you for the opportunity to participate in the democratic process, which is important for the future of the state. Here, young people highly value the government's opportunity to participate in the country's future. In particular, the participation of young people and women indicates the creation of ample opportunities for this. I think this should be the policy of every country. When talking to people, it was very important to observe that they understood the importance of their vote. I monitored in many places and I was satisfied with what I saw there. I was especially pleased with the participation of women in the work of precinct commissions. Applying ink to the voters proves that the institutions organizing the elections in Azerbaijan ensure the transparent conduct of this process."
