Baku: President Sergio Mattarella of Italy has extended his sincere congratulations to the people of Azerbaijan on the occasion of the country's national holiday. He emphasized the strong and fruitful cooperation between the two nations, particularly in the energy sector.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Mattarella noted the numerous examples of friendship and cooperation that have strengthened the strategic partnership between Baku and Rome over recent years. He highlighted the importance of dialogue and peaceful cooperation among states in addressing international challenges, and reiterated Italy's support for initiatives that promote stability and mutual trust between Azerbaijan, the European Union, and countries in the region.

President Mattarella also fondly recalled his last visit to Azerbaijan and previous meetings with Azerbaijani officials, expressing his wishes for the well-being and prosperity of the Azerbaijani people.
