Baku: President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella has addressed a congratulatory letter to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of Independence Day, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the letter from President Mattarella extends sincere congratulations on behalf of both the Italian people and himself to President Aliyev and the people of Azerbaijan. The letter highlights the strong and fruitful cooperation between Italy and Azerbaijan, emphasizing the strategic partnership that has developed in recent years, particularly in the energy sector.

President Mattarella underscores the importance of dialogue and peaceful cooperation among states to address international challenges constructively. He reaffirms Italy's support for initiatives that promote stability, good-neighborly relations, and mutual trust between Azerbaijan, the European Union, and regional countries.
