Japan to provide $490,000 to Uzbekistan for preservation of cultural heritage of Silk Road

Japan International Cooperation Agency allocates 55.9 million yen ($490,000) to Uzbekistan.

According to AKI press, Director of Cultural Heriage Agency under the Ministry of Tourism and Sport Shakhriyar Nurulloev met with Deputy Country Director of Japan International Cooperation Agency Yoshimasa Takemura.

The sides agreed to hold the ceremony of signing of documents on the project of preservation of cultural heritage of Silk Road via digital archives as part of events on occasion of the 30th anniversary since establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Japan.

From June 10-30, 2021, JICA conducted survey in the State Historical Museum of Uzbekistan, Archaeology Museum in Termez and archaeological sites outside Termez.
