Baku: Jeyhun Bayramov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, held a meeting with Ruslan Edelgeriyev, the aide to the President of the Russian Federation and the President's special representative for climate issues, as reported by Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the discussions spanned several key topics, including collaboration between Azerbaijan and Russia in combating climate change and addressing COP (Conference of the Parties) matters. The two parties also delved into regional and international subjects of mutual interest. Minister Bayramov shared insights into Azerbaijan's experiences and achievements during its COP29 Presidency and highlighted the country's ongoing cooperation with Australia, the upcoming COP31 President, and host country Trkiye.

The meeting further addressed bilateral cooperation concerning the Caspian Sea, underscoring the importance of enhancing the activities of the bilateral Working Group focused on the Caspian Sea. The conversation stressed the need to protect the Caspian Sea's water resources and unique ecosystem. Discussions also emphasized the role of innovative technologies and joint projects, particularly in the agricultural sector, as a means to achieve these goals.

In addition to climate and environmental issues, the meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to exchange views on other bilateral matters of mutual interest.
