Baku: A male resident of the Gazakh district, born in 1987, was hospitalized following an ammunition explosion in the Kalbajar region. The incident occurred on July 21, 2026, while the individual was grazing cattle in the Zaylik village, an area recently liberated but not yet cleared of mines. He was admitted to Ganja United Hospital at 5:10 p.m., according to TABIB in response to an inquiry by APA.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the injured man, identified as Sarkhan Isgandarov, sustained various injuries from the explosion. He received necessary medical treatment at the hospital but later chose to be discharged after refusing further medical services based on a written statement.

The explosion was confirmed by Azerbaijan's Mine Action Agency (ANAMA), the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Prosecutor General's Office in a joint statement. These agencies have urged the public to follow safety guidelines, heed mine danger signs, and avoid entering unfamiliar or potentially dangerous areas. They also advised against interfering in zones where mine-clearing activities are underway.

The district prosecutor's office has initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident, highlighting the ongoing risks in areas affected by past conflicts.
