Kalbajar: 'Istisu' Mineral Water Plant LLC exported mineral water products worth $1.7 million in 2025. According to APA-Economics, citing the January issue of the 'Export Review' prepared by the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), the plant achieved significant export success.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, 'Istisu' Mineral Water Plant LLC secured the 8th position among state-owned companies engaged in export operations within the non-oil sector. The ranking highlights the plant's contribution to Azerbaijan's economic activities outside the oil industry.
The production of 'Istisu' mineral water has a historical background, having commenced in 1976 in the Kalbajar district of Azerbaijan. However, operations were halted from 1993 to 2020 due to the Armenian occupation. The plant's reconstruction began with the foundation stone laid on June 26, 2022. Subsequently, on September 2, 2024, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva inaugurated the reopening of the 'Istisu' mineral water plant, marking the resumption of its water production activities.
