Kapital Bank Educates ASOIU Staff on Cyber Fraud Prevention

Baku: Kapital Bank, as part of its 'Stop, think, verify' campaign, recently conducted an educational training session focused on cyber fraud prevention for the academic staff at the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU). This initiative was a collaborative effort between Kapital Bank and the 'AZI' Academy under the university's Human Resources Department.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the session began with an address from Gunel Tagiyeva, a representative of the Public Relations and Marketing Department at ASOIU. Tagiyeva underscored the growing importance of digital security, particularly in a diverse academic environment that includes a substantial number of international students. By enhancing the awareness of academic staff regarding cybersecurity and banking services, the university aims to facilitate better student engagement and support.

Arzu Aliyeva, Head of Public Relations at Kapital Bank, highlighted the primary objective of the training: to educate participants about the risks associated with cyber fraud and to provide them with strategies to safeguard against potential scams.

Nasib Suleymanov, who leads Kapital Bank's Fraud and Digital Operations Investigation Department, presented insights into the rising trend of cyber fraud cases. His presentation covered common fraudulent tactics, essential precautions for digital transactions, and the security measures implemented by Kapital Bank to mitigate such risks.

An interactive Q and A session followed, allowing bank representatives to address various queries from the participants in detail.

The training emphasized the necessity for individuals to remain vigilant against cyber fraud by safeguarding their personal information, including bank card details and personal identification numbers. It was reiterated that bank employees would never contact customers via social media or foreign phone numbers. Customers were encouraged to verify the identity of anyone claiming to represent Kapital Bank by requesting confirmation through the Birbank mobile application.
