Kapital Bank Secures AZN 50 Million Through Bond Placement on Baku Stock Exchange

Baku:Kapital Bank has successfully raised AZN 50 million by placing bonds on the Baku Stock Exchange. This bond placement was conducted through a private arrangement with an international institutional investor and marks the first instance where Kapital Bank has secured financing from a foreign bank using bonds denominated in Azerbaijan's national currency.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, This transaction is significant for Kapital Bank as it not only diversifies its funding sources but also enhances its appeal to investors on an international scale.

Kapital Bank has been an active participant in the local capital markets since 2024. Over this period, the bank has completed 11 bond issuances, amassing USD 170 million and AZN 260 million. The strong demand from local investors for these issuances has bolstered Kapital Bank's standing in Azerbaijan's domestic capital market.

The latest bond placement allows Kapital Bank to expand its investor base geographically, providing foreign financial institutions with a channel to invest in the bank through the local market. The involvement of a foreign investor underscores the potential of Azerbaijan's securities market and indicates a growing interest in its financial institutions.
