Karabakh and East Zangezur Convene to Strategize Agricultural Development

Zangilan: A regional meeting was held in the Karabakh and East Zangezur economic region to discuss the 'State Program for 2026-2030 on the Development of Production and Processing of Agricultural, Fisheries and Aquaculture Products in the Republic of Azerbaijan,' as reported by APA's Karabakh bureau. This meeting was convened following the approval of the program by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on May 25, 2026.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the event was organized to ensure the implementation of President Ilham Aliyev's instructions from a meeting on agricultural issues held on May 25, 2026, under his leadership. The aim was to ensure the efficient and coordinated execution of the measures outlined in the State Program across the regions. Attendees included representatives from relevant state institutions, as well as farmers and entrepreneurs from the districts of Zangilan, Jabrayil, Gubadli, Aghdam, Fuzuli, Khojaly, Khojavand, Shusha, Kalbajar, and Lachin.

Vahid Hajiyev, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Jabrayil, Gubadli, and Zangilan districts, addressed the gathering. He emphasized the priorities identified by President Ilham Aliyev for the development of the agricultural sector and elaborated on the issues discussed during the meeting focused on this direction. Hajiyev provided participants with detailed insights into the key objectives set by the new State Program, highlighting that it aims to boost productivity in the agricultural sector, enhance food security, and develop local production.

Hajiyev concluded the meeting by emphasizing that achieving the targets set forth in the State Program requires the joint efforts of all relevant institutions, entrepreneurs, and farmers. He drew attention to President Ilham Aliyev's appeals to entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector, underscoring the importance of replacing imported products with local production, increasing self-sufficiency, and ensuring the private sector's active participation in implementing the State Program. He stressed the urgency of beginning the implementation of the program's tasks and involving all parties actively in the process.
