Magnitude 5.1 Earthquake Strikes Azerbaijan, No Damage Reported

Gabala: A magnitude 5.1 earthquake shook the Gabala district of Azerbaijan at 15:13 local time, according to information from the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The earthquake's epicenter was located 11 km southwest of the Gabala seismic station, at a depth of 42 km.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Republican Seismological Service Center under the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences reported that the earthquake was experienced with an intensity of up to 5-3 points at the epicenter and in surrounding settlements. Despite the strength of the tremor, no damage or injuries have been reported, as confirmed by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The Earthquake Research Bureau of the Republican Seismological Service Center also confirmed the occurrence of the earthquake, noting its presence in the epicenter and nearby areas. The tremor, measured at 5.1 magnitude, struck at the specified local time, reaching a depth of 42 km.

Gurban Yetirmishli, Director General of the Republican Seismological Service Center, shared preliminary estimates indicating the earthquake measured above 5 on the seismic scale. Despite the significant tremor felt across several regions, there have been no reports of destruction or casualties.
