Tashkent: From February 10 to 13, the 13th session of the Islamic World Heritage Committee of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) is being held in Tashkent, the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Culture told APA.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, on February 10, nominations submitted to the Islamic World Heritage List and the Tentative List of Islamic World Heritage were discussed within the framework of the session. A significant decision was made to include the nomination files prepared by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the Aghdam 'Imaret' Historical and Architectural Museum Complex and the 'Shusha City State Reserve' in ICESCO's Islamic World Heritage List.
This inclusion marks the first time that monuments from Aghdam have been recognized on international cultural heritage lists, highlighting the cultural and historical significance of these sites.
