Astana: President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held talks in Astana with Hungarian President Tam¡s Sulyok, who arrived in Kazakhstan on an official visit. Tokayev welcomed his counterpart, highlighting the visit’s importance for advancing bilateral relations.

According to Trend News Agency, Tokayev emphasized the significance of Hungary’s early recognition of Kazakhstan’s sovereignty and noted Budapest’s role as the first European city to host Kazakhstan’s official diplomatic mission. He expressed confidence in the continuation of close contacts with Hungary, underscoring Kazakhstan’s commitment to expanding political and economic cooperation.

Sulyok expressed gratitude for the warm reception and noted the strong foundations of the bilateral dialogue. He highlighted the deep historical roots of the friendship between the two nations and acknowledged the high level of current political relations and strong economic cooperation. Sulyok mentioned the discussions at the Digital Bridge 2025 conference on artificial intelligence, which opened up great opportunities for future relations and joint projects between the two countries.

During the talks, the leaders discussed prospects for expanding trade and economic partnerships, strengthening cultural and educational ties, and deepening cooperation within multilateral frameworks.
