Astana: President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Chairwoman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva engaged in discussions to bolster their nations’ strategic partnership, emphasizing the development of inter-parliamentary relations. This meeting highlighted the commitment of both countries to enhance cooperation for regional stability.
According to Trend News Agency, President Tokayev welcomed Narbayeva, underscoring her visit to Astana as a testament to the special nature of the Kazakh-Uzbek relationship. He commended her personal efforts in nurturing the bonds of friendship and good neighborliness between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
President Tokayev stressed the importance of the visit in reinforcing friendly ties and underscored the priority Kazakhstan places on cooperation with Uzbekistan. He linked the strength of bilateral relations to regional stability and security, emphasizing the significance of inter-parliamentary ties as a key component of their relationship.
In her response, Tanzila Narbayeva expressed gratitude for the warm reception and conveyed greetings from Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. She assured that all agreements between the two countries are under President Mirziyoyev’s personal oversight and affirmed that the Uzbek Parliament will work towards realizing these agreements.
The discussions extended to enhancing inter-parliamentary diplomacy, and trade, economic, and investment cooperation, with a focus on strengthening cultural and humanitarian connections. President Tokayev also sent his regards to President Mirziyoyev.
Concluding the meeting, President Tokayev honored Tanzila Narbayeva with the Order of “Dostyk” II degree, recognizing her dedication to fostering the bilateral strategic partnership.
