Kazakhstan produced 84 million tons of oil in 2022

Kazakhstan produced 84 million tons of oil last year compared to 85.7 million tons in 2021, the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bolat Akchulakov stated at the briefing. According to him, the decline in oil production is due to unscheduled repairs at the Bolashak plant of the Kashagan field, shutdowns of the Orenburg GPP, where gas is supplied from Karachaganak, as well as repairs at the Caspian Pipeline Consortium. This fact also had a negative impact on oil exports, which amounted to 64.8 million tons, which is 4.1% lower than in 2021.

According to the minister’s forecasts, the volume of oil production in 2023 is projected at 90.5 million tons, exports will amount to 71 million tons.

At the end of 2022, oil refining volumes in Kazakhstan reached 18 million tons, or 5.8% more than in 2021. Gasoline production amounted to 5 million tons, diesel fuel – 5.2 million tons, fuel oil – 2.8 million tons, jet fuel – 0.7 million tons, bitumen – 1 million tons
