Kazakhstan, Russia, and Uzbekistan mull technical capabilities of gas transportation systems

Kazakhstan, Russia, and Uzbekistan are discussing the technical capabilities of gas transportation systems, but there was no talk of creating a gas union, Kazakh Energy Minister Bolat Akchulakov said, APA-Economics reports citing the Russian press.

 

“In fact, the issue of building a gas union was not discussed. All discussions were in the format of bilateral cooperation, say, Kazakhstan with the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. It was not discussed in a trilateral format, we are discussing the technical capabilities of our systems – gas transportation and so on,” he said. he told reporters on the sidelines of an expanded government meeting.

 

The Minister added that the issues of cooperation in the gas sector require the agreement of all three parties. “These are working issues, so there was absolutely no talk about creating some kind of union,” he added.
