Baku: Kazakhstan is showing a keen interest in strengthening partnerships with Azerbaijan in the realms of green energy, atomic energy, and information technology, as stated by Kazakhstan’s Minister of Transport, Nurlan Sauranbayev. He made these remarks during the 21st meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between the two nations.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Sauranbayev stressed the significance of regional collaboration in transporting green energy. He highlighted a pivotal trilateral agreement on green energy, signed in Baku in November 2024 by the presidents of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan, as a testament to this cooperation. Furthermore, he expressed Kazakhstan’s readiness to collaborate with Azerbaijan on the peaceful use of atomic energy.

Acknowledging the integral role of digital technologies in the modern economy, Sauranbayev pointed to the vast possibilities for collaboration in this sector. He stated that Kazakhstan is eager to partner with Azerbaijan on joint IT initiatives and the development of artificial intelligence research centers, emphasizing the importance of technology exchange and fostering a digital trust environment.

Sauranbayev also expressed Kazakhstan’s appreciation for Azerbaijan’s leadership in climate diplomacy. He lauded the outcomes of COP29 held in Baku, underscoring Kazakhstan’s commitment to international principles of human development and climate sustainability. Kazakhstan is prepared to work alongside Azerbaijan on green energy projects in the Caspian Sea region.
