Kazakhstan-Tajikistan Investment Forum Catalyzes $900 Million in Deals

DUSHANBE — A series of commercial agreements and contracts valued at approximately $900 million were signed at the Kazakhstan-Tajikistan Investment Forum, setting a robust foundation for increased economic cooperation between the two nations, as Trend reports.

According to Trend News Agency, the forum took place on August 21, just ahead of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s state visit to Tajikistan. The event saw significant participation from both countries, with Kazakhstan represented by First Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar and Tajikistan by First Deputy Prime Minister Khokim Khulikzoda. Sklyar’s opening remarks underscored the potential for joint ventures across various sectors, aiming to fortify bilateral trade and economic ties. Key focuses included collaborations in metallurgy and agricultural projects geared towards third-country exports.

This event precedes President Tokayev’s official visit scheduled for August 22-23, during which further agreements are expected to be signed, continuing to build upon the strategic partnership aimed at reaching a trade turnover of $2 billion.
