Kazakhstan to Sign Agreement on Middle Corridor with Azerbaijan

Baku: Kazakhstan intends to sign an intergovernmental agreement on the Middle Corridor with Azerbaijan. "We highly value the importance of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route. This year, Kazakhstan intends to sign a relevant intergovernmental agreement with Azerbaijan to enhance the institutional status of the Middle Corridor," said Olzhas Bektenov, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, during a meeting of the Heads of Government/Vice President of the Member States of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) held in Baku.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Bektenov emphasized the importance of maintaining the stability of the route and ensuring its integration with the opening of the Zangezur Corridor. Kazakhstan is ready to engage more actively in the project, with several Kazakh companies expressing interest in the construction and modernization of railway infrastructure.

Kazakhstan will also host an Informal OTS Summit focusing on artificial intelligence and digital development. This initiative is expected to boost digital transformation and foster technological cooperation, as highlighted by the Kazakh Prime Minister.
