Kazakhstan: Kazakhstan’s industrial sector continues to show steady growth, said Olzhas Saparbekov, the country’s Vice Minister of Industry and Construction, Trend reports. Speaking at a press conference hosted by the Central Communications Service, Saparbekov highlighted positive trends in the manufacturing sector, projecting a 4 percent rise in production volume by the end of 2023 to $45.4 billion. Growth reached 4.8 percent in the first nine months of the year, with expectations to hit 5.1 percent by year-end.
According to Trend News Agency, sectors driving growth include furniture production, which increased by 17.9 percent, chemicals by 9.5 percent, metallurgy by 8.3 percent, and machine engineering by 4.2 percent. Additionally, household appliance production has seen a significant boost, doubling to 170,000 units.
Exports of manufactured goods rose by 6.4 percent in the first eight months of 2024, reaching a total of $17.8 billion. Key exports from Kazakhstan include industrial pumps, cables, trailer
s, and fittings, with the main export markets being Uzbekistan, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Italy, and the United Kingdom.
Oil and oil products remain dominant in Kazakhstan’s export landscape, accounting for approximately 66 percent. The export portfolio is further supplemented by raw materials such as copper and various ores, highlighting the country’s significant reliance on natural resources for economic growth.
