Khankendi Railway and Bus Terminal Complex Nears Halfway Mark in Construction

Khankendi: Special Representative of the President, Elchin Yusubov, announced that 40 percent of the construction work on the Khankendi Railway and Bus Terminal Complex has been completed. He highlighted the importance of citizen and specialist participation in reconstruction and urban planning, with transparency and accountability being key principles in decision-making processes. This announcement was made during the event titled "Post-conflict Urban Development: Restoring a Destroyed Identity and Rebuilding an Integrated Future," held at the Azerbaijan pavilion during WUF13.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Yusubov reported that 71 families, comprising 302 individuals, have returned to Khankendi, which was recently liberated from occupation. Additionally, 857 families (3,341 people) have returned to Aghdara, and 1,083 families (4,510 people) to Khojaly. The relocation efforts are part of a broader initiative to rebuild the region and restore normalcy.

Yusubov further elaborated on the progress of the rail and bus terminal project, stating that the design of the 28-kilometre Aghdam-Khankendi railway line has reached 90 percent completion, with construction at 51.1 percent. Similarly, the design work for the railway and bus terminal in Khankendi is also 90 percent complete, while the construction stands at 40 percent. The project is a significant step in enhancing connectivity and infrastructure in the region.
