Khojaly Genocide Discussed in Italian Parliament

Rome: On February 23, a conference titled "Khojaly - 34 years later: Remembrance and Justice on the Path to Reconciliation" was held in the Senate of Italy to mark the 34th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide. The event was initiated by Raffaele De Rosa, a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Italian Senate.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Senator Marco Scurria emphasized the importance of remembering the tragedy in Khojaly, while also advocating for courage in envisioning peace and brotherhood. He stressed that achieving peace in the region should be followed by efforts to build a better future.

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Italy, Rashad Aslanov, highlighted the significance of the "Justice for Khojaly!" international campaign initiated by Leyla Aliyeva. He underscored the need for joint international efforts to prevent the recurrence of such crimes. Aslanov also spoke on the ongoing reconstruction in Garabagh and Khojaly, noting that many residents have returned as part of the restoration efforts.

The conference concluded with a video presentation depicting the tragic consequences of the genocide.
