Kyrgyz President Expresses Optimism for Lasting Peace Between Azerbaijan and Armenia

Bishkek: Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov has expressed confidence in the potential for peaceful relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, emphasizing the significance of their recent diplomatic achievements. In a video address at the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity ceremony, Zhaparov extended his congratulations on the award and highlighted the importance of the joint declaration signed in Washington on August 8, 2025.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Zhaparov noted that the agreement is more than just a political step, describing it as a historic achievement that strengthens peace and mutual confidence in the South Caucasus. He praised the leadership of Ilham Heydar oglu and Nikol Vovayevich for their statesmanship and foresight in restoring relations between their countries.

Zhaparov reaffirmed the Kyrgyz Republic's support for a peace agreement, emphasizing the importance of mutual trust and sustainable peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia. He expressed readiness to assist in the peace process, highlighting the potential for harmony and prosperity for both peoples.
