Kyrgyz President Highlights Azerbaijan’s Role in Central Asia Cooperation

Turkmenbashi:President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Zhaparov, stated that Azerbaijan's upcoming chairmanship in the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2027 will significantly boost joint efforts and the development of mutually beneficial cooperation. He made these remarks during the 8th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Central Asia.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Zhaparov congratulated Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on assuming the first chairmanship of the Consultative Meeting. He expressed confidence that Azerbaijan's leadership would enhance collaborative activities and foster beneficial partnerships.

President Zhaparov also assured that Kyrgyzstan is prepared to support and facilitate the successful execution of Azerbaijan's chairmanship priorities. He highlighted the potential for tourism cooperation, noting the complementary tourism assets of Azerbaijan and Central Asia, which include historical cities, mountain and Caspian routes, and a rich cultural heritage.

He proposed developing tourism cooperation with the concept of 'one trip - several countries' to combine attractions from different countries into unified tourist routes. Furthermore, he expressed hope for Azerbaijan's support for Kyrgyzstan's initiative to introduce a single tourist visa and suggested directing foreign policy departments to establish specific mechanisms for its implementation.
