Uzbekistan President Highlights Azerbaijan’s Role in Regional Economic Integration

Turkmenbashi:Azerbaijan plays a crucial role in the formation of a more solid and integrated economic and transport space between Central Asia and other regions, stated President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at the 8th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Central Asia.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Shavkat Mirziyoyev discussed the new opportunities for strengthening regional cooperation. He emphasized the potential for countries to collectively enhance trade, transport, energy, industry, and new technologies.

The President highlighted the necessity for further development of trade and economic partnerships, pointing to the significance of creating joint industrial and technological chains, shared digital services, and investment mechanisms to expedite major projects.

Mirziyoyev proposed leveraging the region's geographical advantages under the principle of 'six countries - one product,' advocating for collaborative efforts in creating final products to deepen economic ties among the countries in the region.

He also stressed the importance of enhancing the legal framework of the consultative format, focusing on the practical implementation of adopted documents rather than their quantity. Additionally, he suggested organizing a joint business forum for Central Asia and Azerbaijan in the coming year.
