Bishkek: Kyrgyzstan and China have entered into a significant agreement aimed at bolstering cooperation in the coal industry. Electric Stations of Kyrgyzstan, KyrgyzKomur, and the Chinese Gansu Yindi Industry and Trade Group have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen their collaboration in this sector.

According to Trend News Agency, the memorandum was formalized following a meeting between Kyrgyz Energy Minister Taalaybek Ibraev, leaders of the country’s national energy companies, and representatives from Gansu Yindi Industrial and Trading Company. During the meeting, the parties explored opportunities for deepening bilateral cooperation and implementing joint initiatives in the coal industry.

Kyrgyz energy officials had the opportunity to visit Gansu Yindi’s facilities, which boast a production capacity exceeding 1 million tons annually. The tour included visits to advanced coal mining, transport and processing plants, residential complexes, transport infrastructure, and large-scale renewable energy projects. These visits aimed to provide insights into the operational capabilities and potential areas for collaboration between the two nations.

Gansu Yindi Industrial and Trading Company, established in March 2006, specializes in trade, mineral resource development, real estate projects, engineering construction, and the processing and export of agricultural products. The company is also involved in comprehensive agricultural development, highlighting its diverse range of activities and potential for future partnerships with Kyrgyzstan.
