Lachin: The closing ceremony of the “CIS Capital of Culture – 2025” was held in Azerbaijan’s Lachin city, organized by the Ministry of Culture and the Special Representative Office of the President of Azerbaijan in Lachin district.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Masim Mammadov, Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in the Lachin district, highlighted the significance of the event for the city. Mammadov noted that 2025 brought new energy to Lachin through cultural exchange and international cooperation.
Collaborations with the Ministry of Culture and the CIS Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Fund were highlighted as establishing a strong foundation for future partnerships. Polad Bulbuloglu, MP and Chair of the Parliament’s Culture Committee, emphasized the selection of non-capital cities with cultural and historical value. He noted that the proposal to nominate Lachin was initiated by President Ilham Aliyev, expressing gratitude to the head of state.
Farid Jafarov, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Culture, described Lachin’s designation as a testimony to the restoration of cultural dynamics in liberated territories. The Deputy Minister mentioned over 15 successful events in Lachin during the year, contributing to its cultural revival and establishing it as a platform for regional cooperation.
The event concluded with an artistic program.
