Aghdara: A person has been injured in a landmine explosion in the Sugovushan village area of Aghdara district and has been transferred from Tartar District Central Hospital to Barda District Central Hospital at approximately 15:20 on April 1, as confirmed by Barda District Central Hospital in response to an inquiry by APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the injured individual, identified as Mahir Abdulla oghlu Maharramov, born in 1982, has suffered a traumatic amputation of the right ankle joint and is currently undergoing surgery. His condition is reported to be serious.

Earlier, the press services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA), and the Prosecutor General's Office informed APA that the landmine incident took place on April 1 near the Sugovushan settlement of Aghdara district. Maharramov, a resident of Hajigervend village in Aghdara district, sustained injuries to his right leg due to an anti-personnel mine explosion in an uncleared area along the former line of contact. The Tartar District Prosecutor's Office is conducting an investigation into the incident.

ANAMA, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Prosecutor General's Office have issued a statement urging citizens to adhere to safety protocols, remain vigilant for mine warning signs, avoid entering unknown areas, and not tamper with fenced-off zones.
