Bonn: Leyla Aliyeva met with Simon Stiell, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), in Bonn, Germany, APA reports. The meeting focused on Azerbaijan's efforts in environmental protection and sustainability.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the discussions highlighted projects by the IDEA Public Union, including biodiversity enrichment, environmental awareness initiatives, and the protection of rare fauna species. The conversation also emphasized the importance of expanding protected natural areas to mitigate climate change effects.

The meeting further explored prospects for collaborative research on the decline of the Caspian Sea level and its ecological and socio-economic impacts. Both parties agreed on the need to prioritize this issue on the global climate agenda.

Additionally, opportunities for joint initiatives with the UNFCCC were discussed, particularly those aimed at increasing youth involvement in environmental responsibility and enhancing knowledge on environmental protection and climate change.
