Lankaran: Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Founder and Head of the IDEA Public Union, along with Arzu Aliyeva, Head of the Baku Media Center, visited the family of Patriotic War martyr Ulfat Babazada in the Lankaran district. The visit was part of their ongoing efforts to honor the sacrifices made by those who fought in the Patriotic War.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Leyla and Arzu Aliyeva paid tribute to the memory of Ulfat Babazada, learning about his life and combat achievements. They expressed interest in the well-being of his family, acknowledging the hero's valiant efforts and dedication during the war.
Ulfat Gabil oglu Babazada hailed from the Dashtatuk village in Lankaran district. He served in the Azerbaijani Special Forces during the 44-day Patriotic War, playing a crucial role in the liberation of occupied territories. His actions in the operations across Khojavand, Kalbajar, and Shusha showcased his bravery. Babazada achieved martyrdom on November 8, 2020, amid the intense battles for Shusha.
President Ilham Aliyev posthumously honored Ulfat Babazada with the 'Azerbaijani Flag' Order and several medals, including 'For the Motherland', 'Brave Warrior', 'For the Liberation of Shusha', 'For the Liberation of Khojavend', and 'For the Liberation of Kalbajar'.
