Sheki: Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and Arzu Aliyeva, Head of the Baku Media Center, attended the opening ceremony of restored historical and architectural monuments in Sheki's Yukhari Bash National Historical-Architectural Reserve. According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the Aliyeva sisters examined the facilities at the newly restored Stained Glass Windows (Shabaka) Workshop and Training Center, along with the Sheki Museum of History and Local Lore. The restoration project aims to safeguard Sheki's historical heritage, preserve traditional crafts, and boost the city's tourism potential. During their visit to the Sheki Museum of History and Local Lore, they explored exhibits showcasing the region's history, culture, ethnography, traditional craftsmanship, and culinary heritage. The museum houses over three thousand cultural artifacts, with 1826 items displayed in the exhibition halls. The restoration of additional historical and architectural sites within the Yukhari B ash Reserve will continue progressively. The Shabaka Workshop and Training Center features an exhibition hall, workshop, and training rooms focused on the art of weaving. Leyla and Arzu Aliyeva also interacted with renowned shabaka master Tofig Rasulov and his students, participating in the creation of shabaka samples. They commended Rasulov for preserving this ancient Azerbaijani art form and wished success to him and his students. The Aliyeva sisters further engaged in preparing traditional sweets and visited the ABAD Ceramics Center, highlighting their support for cultural preservation and local craftsmanship.
