Brussels: Lithuania has announced the appointment of new cultural attach©s to Belgium, the United States, and France, marking a significant step in enhancing its global cultural presence. According to Trend News Agency, Minister Birutis expressed confidence in the newly appointed attach©s, describing them as outstanding professionals poised to strengthen Lithuania's cultural diplomacy. He emphasized the importance of their roles in promoting Lithuanian culture internationally, particularly in strategically important countries.
Adele Dovydaviciute, appointed as Cultural Attach© to the Permanent Representation to the European Union in Brussels, brings over 15 years of experience in architecture and cultural project management. Her work will focus on interdisciplinary projects that merge architecture with cultural outreach and education. A major task ahead for Dovydaviciute will be organizing Lithuania's cultural program for its EU Council presidency in 2027.
Akvile Kavaliauskaite, the new Cultural Attach© at the Consulate General in New York, has a background in journalism and literary studies. Kavaliauskaite's mission includes enhancing Lithuania's footprint in U.S. cultural institutions and fostering Lithuania-U.S. cultural relations through various heritage initiatives.
Egle Cepaite, taking on the role of Cultural Attach© at the Embassy in France, offers a decade of experience in international cinema and cultural projects. With academic credentials in philosophy, cultural management, and film studies, Cepaite aims to build upon the success of the Lithuanian Season in France in 2024 by expanding cultural cooperation and establishing long-term projects.
Cultural attach©s serve as representatives of Lithuania in embassies or consulates abroad, operating under the Ministry of Culture's mandate. Their work is coordinated by the Lithuanian Culture Institute, and each appointment spans a three-year term.
