Lithuania Commends Progress in Armenia-Azerbaijan Peace Process and Transport Links

Yerevan: Lithuania welcomes the progress in the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the agreements reached on the restoration of transport links, Lithuania's Deputy Foreign Minister Audra Plepyte said in an interview with Armenpress during the Yerevan Dialogue 2026 international forum.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Plepyte emphasized the importance of ensuring the timely signing and ratification of the peace agreement, as well as the full implementation of other obligations stipulated in the Washington Declaration. She highlighted the initialling of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Peace Treaty and the agreements on transport links as witnessed by President Trump on August 8th at the White House. This event was described as a historic milestone, marking significant progress toward ending decades of conflict.

Plepyte reiterated the necessity of adhering to the commitments outlined in the trilateral declaration, stressing that the next steps in the peace process are critical for lasting stability in the region.
