Baku:A delegation from the General Jonas Žemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania recently visited Azerbaijan as part of the 2026 bilateral military cooperation plan between the Ministries of Defense of Azerbaijan and Lithuania.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the delegation began their visit by paying respects at the Alley of Shehids, honoring those who lost their lives for Azerbaijan's independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty.

During their stay, the delegation held meetings at the National Defense University, the Military Institute named after Heydar Aliyev, and the Military Lyceum named after Jamshid Nakhchivanski. They were briefed on the organization of Azerbaijan’s military education system, personnel training, educational processes, and professional development initiatives.

The discussions highlighted the significance of international cooperation and the exchange of experiences in military education. Both parties shared perspectives on topics of mutual interest and exchanged gifts at the conclusion of the meetings.

The visit was capped off with a performance by the orchestra of the Military Lyceum named after Jamshid Nakhchivanski.
