Baku:At the 4th International Conference within the framework of the Baku Dialogue on Missing Persons, Gazanfar Ahmadov, Secretary of the State Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons, emphasized the importance of Armenia providing accurate information about the fate and burial places of missing Azerbaijanis.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, Ahmadov highlighted that the conference's main theme, trust, is reinforced through concrete actions such as sharing reliable information and strengthening scientific cooperation. He noted that accurate information paves the way for searches and coordinated efforts speed up the identification process, bringing closure to families affected by uncertainty.
Ahmadov stated that Azerbaijan places significant importance on Armenia's provision of detailed information regarding missing persons, as mandated by international humanitarian law. Such cooperation is seen as essential for alleviating the suffering of families and fostering the trust needed for lasting peace.
He also stressed the need for continued scientific and technical cooperation, including experience exchange, joint research, forensic expertise, and training in modern search technologies. Continuous collaboration between state institutions, international organizations, and experts is deemed crucial for achieving practical outcomes.
