Liverpool: Liverpool have reached a verbal agreement for the transfer of Rennes centre-back Jeremy Jacquet worth up to £60m.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the 20-year-old, who has also been pursued by Chelsea, is set to move to Anfield in the summer.

Liverpool has agreed to a package that includes a fixed fee of £55m, supplemented by potential performance-related add-ons amounting to £5m. This strategic move aims to bolster Liverpool's defense, with Jacquet expected to undergo his medical examination in England on Deadline Day.

Chelsea had matched Liverpool's offer; however, recent developments involving Mamadou Sarr's return to Chelsea and Josh Acheampong's decision to stay led Jacquet to favor a move to Liverpool. The decision was influenced by the prospect of more regular playing time at Liverpool, given Chelsea's current abundance of young centre-backs.
