ROME — The President of the Luiss School of Law outlined the institution’s commitment to fostering a robust academic relationship with ADA University through the Italy-Azerbaijan University network, emphasizing an interdisciplinary approach to social sciences and global management.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the collaboration, which began with a Memorandum of Understanding in 2019, has led to the development of an innovative program that leverages the ‘Made in Italy’ brand to bolster the ‘Made in Azerbaijan’ quality label. “The objective is to co-develop with ADA an innovative and interdisciplinary programme that, drawing from the know-how and excellence of Made in Italy, will teach students to create, manage and promote the ‘Made in Azerbaijan’ quality label,” stated the President during a recent discussion.
The academic cooperation extends beyond classroom instruction, involving master’s and doctoral programs, research methodologies, and faculty mobility. Starting next week, a delegation from ADA will engage in a three-week program at Luiss focused on the tutoring model, which includes both lessons and shadowing activities. Additionally, in October, five ADA professors will participate in workshops at Luiss to further integrate the ‘Made in Italy’ expertise with Azerbaijani innovation.
The current academic program under this partnership, Global Management and Politics (GMaP) – Made in Azerbaijan, aims at equipping students with a robust foundation in social sciences and the necessary skills to navigate global business and governance challenges. This program includes modules that blend the ‘Made in Italy’ model with Azerbaijan’s growing sectors, facilitating a dynamic learning environment through project-based interactions with companies and institutions.
The first cohort of students under this initiative completed a significant portion of their studies in Baku, with subsequent summer modules held in Rome, focusing on theoretical and practical applications of international business models. “In the summer 2024 the first cohort of students successfully completed their 3-week summer module on ‘Made in Italy’ and ‘Euro Italy-Azerbaijan University Mediterranean Trends’ in Rome,” elaborated the President, highlighting the program’s success in integrating academic and operational insights.
Looking ahead, the partnership is poised to expand into new areas, including a student mobility program within the law field, aimed at giving students firsthand experience with different legal systems and international projects. This expansion was discussed during the recent Italy-Azerbaijan Round Table, signaling a deepening of ties between the two institutions.
