Baku: Maimunah Mohd Sharif extended her congratulations to Azerbaijan and UN-Habitat for their successful organization of the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13). She praised the decision to focus on housing as a central topic, highlighting the timeliness of this discussion. Sharif, a former Mayor of Kuala Lumpur and Advisor on Sustainable Urbanization to the Government of Malaysia, shared her views with AZERTAC, emphasizing the importance of such forums.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Sharif pointed out that WUF13, despite not being a legislative body, acts as an inclusive platform that gathers representatives from various sectors to exchange ideas and perspectives. She underscored the need for the outcomes of WUF13 to be acknowledged, monitored, and reported in the next forum, WUF14, in light of ongoing global challenges.
