Maimunah Mohd Sharif Highlights Housing as Main Focus at WUF13 in Baku

Baku: Providing housing for the world is currently the main issue, Maimunah Mohd Sharif, Adviser on Sustainable Urbanization to the Malaysian government, said while speaking to journalists within the framework of WUF13, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the World Urban Forum serves as a platform where issues related to sustainable urbanization are discussed. The forum sees participation from policymakers, leaders from various levels, and representatives from the public, youth, and private sector to address urbanization challenges. Housing has been identified as a critical issue linked to the overall quality of life.

Maimunah Mohd Sharif emphasized that comprehensive discussions on these issues will take place in Baku over five days. She expressed hope for achieving certain outcomes by the end of the forum. She noted that in Malaysia, efforts will be made to implement the outcomes and put decisions and action plans into practice. She also urged other leaders to take similar steps.

The discussions will also focus on the connection between housing, climate change, and climate resilience. Housing is seen as a fundamental pillar for people's well-being and livelihood.
