Baku: The 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13), currently underway in Baku, is being recognized as a significant international platform for discussions on urbanization and the future of humanity's relationship with nature, according to Refail Kasimbeyli, a Professor at the Faculty of Engineering at Trkiye's Eskisehir Technical University. In an interview with AZERTAC, Kasimbeyli emphasized the importance of the forum in addressing global challenges related to sustainable urban development.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Professor Kasimbeyli highlighted that Azerbaijan's large-scale reconstruction efforts in its liberated territories exemplify modern urban planning concepts. The development projects in regions such as Fuzuli, Shusha, Khankendi, Zangilan, Lachin, and Aghdam are viewed as not only urban renewal initiatives but also as efforts to revive national memory and cultural heritage.

The professor pointed out that the integration of 'smart city' and 'smart village' concepts is introducing a modern perspective to the reconstruction process in Garabagh and East Zangezur. These initiatives are seen as pivotal in promoting sustainable and technologically advanced urban environments.

Kasimbeyli expressed confidence that the discussions and outcomes of WUF13 will further bolster Azerbaijan's international reputation as a leader in innovative urban development and cultural preservation.
