Baku: Manaf Jalilzade has been summoned to the Prosecutor General’s Office, APA reports, citing Ictimai Television. According to the information, Jalilzade Manaf Mammadali has been sent an official notice to appear at the Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office. This summons is in accordance with the requirements of Article 467-13.4 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, Jalilzade is required to appear on November 24 at 14:00 at the Investigation Department, located at 160 Suleyman Sani Akhundov Street, Binagadi district, Baku city. A decision has been made to bring him as an accused under Article 281.2 of the Criminal Code. Jalilzade has been declared wanted due to evading investigation and hiding outside Azerbaijan. The Binagadi District Court decided on February 15 of this year to place him under preventive detention in absentia.
On September 19, charges were also brought against Arastun Orujlu under Articles 220.2 and 281.2 of the Criminal Code, following additions and changes to the accusations. It was noted that on February 17, 2023, Jalilzade, along with Suleymanli Suleyman and others, launched a live broadcast on “Diktator TV” through YouTube. They called for the use of force against the current government in Azerbaijan, and subsequently produced 19 different videos on the platform in 2023-2025.
The accused has been warned that failure to appear may result in in absentia proceedings, leading to a verdict or other court decisions issued without his presence.
