Baku: President Ilham Aliyev has reiterated Azerbaijan’s commitment to resolving the Palestinian issue through the two-state principle. In a congratulatory letter sent to President Mahmoud Abbas of the State of Palestine, Aliyev underscored the strong friendly and fraternal ties between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Palestine.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, President Aliyev emphasized Azerbaijan’s longstanding solidarity with the Palestinian cause. He expressed support for the establishment of an independent State of Palestine, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with relevant United Nations resolutions and decisions. Aliyev also conveyed his confidence that the outcomes of the Middle East Peace Summit held in Sharm el-Sheikh will enhance peace, stability, and security in the region.
