Baku: The Mayor of Banjul, Gambia, Rohey Malick Lowe, who also serves as the President of REFELA Africa, extended her gratitude to the city of Baku for hosting the 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13). During the official closing press conference, she emphasized the importance of the forum in bringing together participants during challenging times for cities and communities, acknowledging Baku's role and hospitality.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Mayor Lowe highlighted the critical issue of housing, describing it as both a human right and a democratic responsibility. She stressed the necessity for universal public services, along with sufficient authority and resources for local and regional administrations, to ensure that housing needs are adequately addressed.
