Baku:The Media and Broadcasting Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan has issued a warning regarding the spread of false statements attributed to the President of Azerbaijan on Turkish social media platforms. The council emphasized that such misinformation, which falsely represents the President's official position, is aimed at misleading the public.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the council highlighted that the primary sources for information about the President's speeches, statements, and activities are his official website and social media accounts. Media outlets are urged to rely on these official sources when reporting and to refrain from attributing unverified statements to the head of state.

The council further urged media outlets and social media users to act responsibly by verifying the accuracy of information and cross-checking it against official sources before sharing, to prevent the spread of disinformation.
